Dear Town Board of the Town of Highland and Supervisor Andrew Boyar:

Our names are [your names], residing at [your Barryville address if possible] Barryville, NY and we are residents and taxpayers in the Town of Highland.

We urge the Town Board to adopt Town Law 3 of 2012 to prohibit oil and gas drilling, fracking and other heavy industry in the Town of Highland. The Town Board has an obligation to protect the health, safety and welfare of all town residents... that means protecting our air, water, roads, rural environment and the value of our property.

We believe our health and safety and our property values are threatened by gas drilling and other heavy industry. We are counting on the Town Board to act in the interest of the majority of town residents, who will be harmed if gas drilling is allowed in our town.

Thank you for your careful consideration of this matter.

[your names]
